‘Divergent’ Casts Jai Courtney As Eric
The movie adaption of the book Divergent from writer Veronica Roth has cast actor Jai Courtney in the role of Eric, Entertainment Weekly has shared. Neil Burger of ‘Limitless’ will direct the film from Summit Entertainment. In the movie that takes place in the future – centered on one girl who must make a life altering choice – Courtney will portray the leader of the Dauntless faction. His character comes off as both domineering and intimidating with his grey eyes and piercings.
Courtney joins a cast line-up of Shailene Woodley (The Descendants) in the role of Beatrice Prior, a rumored Kate Winslet (Titanic) as Jeanine Matthews, Zoe Kravitz (The Brave One) as Christina, Maggie Q (Live Free or Die Hard) in the role of Tori and Ansel Elgort (Carrie) as Caleb. Summit is still on the look out to fill the role of the Tris’s love interest.
At the moment Courtney is attached to star in the 2013 film ‘I, Frankenstein’ and ‘Felony’. He has previously appeared in ‘A Good Day to Die Hard’, ‘Jack Reacher’ and the television series ‘Spartacus: War of the Damned’ as the recurring character Varro. His other credits include ‘Packed to the Rafters’, ‘Stoned Bros’, ‘All Saints’, ‘Made in Hollywood’ and ‘The Project’.
