‘Scandal’ Star Tony Goldwyn Joins ‘Divergent’ as Tris’ father Andrew
Even with none of the fresh, new young adult adaptations reaching ‘Twilight’ levels of success in theaters, one still in the works, Divergent is looking very promising indeed. Star of TV’s Scandal, Tony Goldwyn, is the latest to join the cast.
‘Divergent’, based on the novel by Veronica Roth and directed by Neil Burger, is a futuristic sci-fi in which people are divided into different factions based on their personalities. If you don’t fit into a group, like protagonist Tris Prior, then you are labelled ‘divergent’.
Shailene Woodley stars as Tris, with new addition Goldwyn now set to play her father. The film also stars Theo James, Kate Winslet, Ray Stevenson, Maggie Q, Mekhi Phifer, Jai Courtney, Miles Teller, Zoe Kravitz and more, and will hit theaters on March 21st 2013.
