Clip Mania: Guardians of the Galaxy, Transcendence, Hercules, and More
Happy Friday everyone! Below I’ve rounded up various clips and trimmed them down to the most relevant (or exciting) seven movies. Two of the movies – Guardians of the Galaxy and Hercules – released their first clips ever, so I’d definitely take a look at those. As for the others, check out movies coming out this weekend – Oculus and Cuban Fury – as well as some others in the near future, like Transcendence, Brick Mansions, and The Protector 2.

A first clip for Guardians of the Galaxy arrived and it’s sure to provide the biggest splash. With Captain America: The Winter Soldier still fresh in everyone’s minds, Marvel is hoping to keep the momentum going this August with the latest addition to their superhero universe. As you can see by the clip, the cast is headlined by Chris Pratt. James Gunn (Super) directs the flick that is set to release August 1st.
A whole bunch of clips (seven, to be exact) released this past week in anticipation for Transcendence. The film, which has an impressive cast that includes Johnny Depp, Morgan Freeman, and Rebecca Hall (The Prestige), comes out already on April 18th (in the U.S.). If you want to get a glimpse into the film and its plot, I’d consider watching all seven clips for Wally Pfister’s directorial debut.
Like Guardians of the Galaxy, Brett Ratner’s (Tower Heist) Hercules unveiled its debut clip. Starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the title character, the movie is set to battle both the other 2014 Hercules adaptation and a bunch of summer blockbusters when it finds theaters on July 25th. As always, the clip is above.
As always, a couple clips released for a movie that comes out starting today. Vying for the box office crown is the horror film Oculus. If you are at all interested in the movie, I’d check out the two clips I found. As you might be able to see (or maybe you can’t tell because they don’t look like themselves), Mike Flanagan’s film stars Katee Sackhoff (Riddick) and Karen Gillan (BBC’s Doctor Who). Again, the movie is available starting today.
Speaking of movies that come out this weekend, Cuban Fury also added a clip online. The dancing rom-com stars Nick Frost (The World’s End) and Rashida Jones (I Love You, Man). Directed by James Griffiths (NBC’s Up All Night), you can check out the clip above before trying to catch the movie in limited theaters!
I also rounded up the two newest clips for Brick Mansions. The action remake is probably most known as being one of the late Paul Walker’s last films. However, it’s also worth noting David Belle (Prince of Persia) and RZA (The Man with the Iron Fists) will star alongside him. Also, the movie is directed by Camille Delamarre. If you’re at all interested in the movie, watch the clips and see the movie starting April 25th.
Speaking of RZA, he can be seen in another movie and clip above. He’ll star (with returner Tony Jaa) in The Protector 2. Prachya Pinkaew, who directed the first movie, will return as director and the movie is set for a May 2 release. Check it out if you get the chance.
