Trailer Round-Up: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and More
Every week with new Hunger Games stuff is a good week. In today’s Trailer Round-Up, I have the first (teaser) footage for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 as well as trailers for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Fury, The Purge: Anarchy, The Last of Robin Hood, The Prince, and Good People.
Check out all the trailers in this week’s crowded Trailer Round-Up below.
If you’ve been waiting on the edge of your seat for our first footage of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, I’ve got just the stuff for you! The teaser is just that – a teaser – but it does give us a look at Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) after being kidnapped by President Snow (Donald Sutherland). So far, The Hunger Games have done (virtually) no wrong so I hope the style and tone stays the same. We’ll see when Francis Lawrence’s sequel hits theaters on November 21st. Be on the lookout for a full trailer, which will feature star Jennifer Lawrence, later this month.
To some, there was an exciting new trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles this week. I say “to some” because I am not excited for this movie as of now. I do think the second trailer was a bit better, but having just come off a Michael Bay film (read the review here), I am not excited for anything with his name attached (he is one of the producers). However, judge for yourself as the new trailer (directed by Jonathan Liebesman and starring Megan Fox and Will Arnett) is above.
The first full-length trailer debuted for David Ayer’s (End of Watch) World War II film, Fury. Brad Pitt stars in the movie where he leads his tank crew behind enemy lines. Personally, I wish we’d get the same Pitt character that nailed it in Inglourious Basterds, but I’m not holding my breath. This one also stars Shia LaBeouf and Jon Bernthal (AMC’s The Walking Dead). Fury releases November 14th.
Finally, a coming soon movie, as The Purge: Anarchy released what I assume is its last trailer. James DeMonaco’s sequel comes out July 18th and will rely on Frank Grillo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) and Michael K. Williams (HBO’s The Wire) to thrill us. You can watch the trailer above!
Richard Glatzer and Wash West’s (The Fluffer) Errol Flynn biographical film The Last of Robin Hood released a new trailer, too. Kevin Kline (A Fish Called Wanda) stars as Flynn while Dakota Fanning (Man on Fire) and Susan Sarandon co-star. Watch the new trailer before the movie comes out on August 29th.
Lionsgate’s The Prince is next in line with a trailer. Brian A. Miller’s film stars Bruce Willis, John Cusack, and even 50 Cent. I’m not very familiar with this film, but if the cast sounds interesting you may want to watch the trailer above. The Prince releases on August 22nd both in theaters and on VOD services.
Rounding out this week is a new trailer for Good People. Based on the 2008 novel of the same name, Henrik Ruben Genz’s (Terribly Happy) adaptation stars James Franco and Kate Hudson. As of now, it has a release date of September 26th. Check out the footage above!
