Clip Mania: Big Hero 6, Horns, Ouija, Laggies, and More
Perhaps next weekend’s Halloween had an impact on today’s Clip Mania. With an influx of horror and thriller films, today primarily deals with those genres. However, before I get to new clips for Horns, Ouija, White Bird in a Blizzard, Stonehearst Asylum, and Housebound, I’ll lighten things up with new clips for Disney’s Big Hero 6. Laggies is also thrown into the mix with all these films.
All the clips are below. If you happened to have missed this week’s trailers, posters, photos, and/or news breaks, do check those out!
First up today are five new clips for the upcoming release of Disney/Marvel’s Big Hero 6 collaboration. The animated superhero comedy voice stars some smaller names (like Ryan Potter and Scott Adsit) but does also include some names we know (like Damon Wayans, Jr. and Maya Rudolph). Don Hall and Chris Williams’ film comes out November 7th, so check out the clips above!
I also wanted to mention a new clip I found for next weekend’s theatrical release of Alexandre Aja’s (Mirrors) Horns. Since the movie already hit Video On Demand services, some have likely seen the full movie. If you haven’t and are interested, you can check out Daniel Radcliffe’s performance above. The big screen debut hits aptly on October 31st.
Out this weekend is the horror film Ouija. I don’t have a lot of interest in the movie and the clip illustrates why – I’m just not a horror fan. If you are, though, the clip is available above. Stiles White directed Daren Kagasoff (ABC Family’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager) and Bianca A. Santos (ABC Family’s The Fosters). Check the full movie out today in wide release.
Lynn Shelton’s (Your Sister’s Sister) next film Laggies is also out this weekend. The movie stars Keira Knightley, Chloe Grace Moretz, and Sam Rockwell. It also gives us a slight reprieve from the horror/thrillers featured today. Check out the clips above if you’re interested in the drama.
To continue our trend of films releasing this weekend, I did want to quickly mention the last clip for the film adaptation of White Bird in a Blizzard. Starring Shailene Woodley (Divergent) and Eva Green (300: Rise of an Empire), the thriller is directed by Gregg Araki (Kaboom). Woodley will play a character whose life is turned upside down when her mother goes missing. Check it out above or this weekend in limited release. This one is also available on Video On Demand services, by the way.
Stonehearst Asylum is our final film featured today that releases this weekend. Like some of the others, this fits in the thriller/horror genre. I didn’t know a whole lot about this movie before I saw the clips. However, I did know that it starred some pretty big names – like Kate Beckinsale, Michael Caine, and Ben Kingsley – so there’s reason to believe this could turn out to be a surprise hit. We’ll see how this weekend treats it. Check out the two clips above.
I’ll leave you today with a clip above for Housebound. Billed as both a horror and comedy, I’m not quite sure what to make of this movie. Gerard Johnstone directed the pic that stars a bunch of names I personally haven’t heard of (like Morgana O’Reilly and Rima Te Wiata); however, that doesn’t mean the film is automatically not worth seeing. In fact, you could be lucky enough to watch it now as this one has already technically released.
Have a great weekend!
